Zula Faye Harness, age 66 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died July 13, 2010 in Somerset, Kentucky at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday July 15, 2010 at 8pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Ledford Byrd, Rev. Dudley Harness and Rev. Rufus Hughes officiating. Burial was in the Harness Family Cemetery. The Family will receive friends after 6pm Thursday July 15, 2010 at the funeral home. She was born in Marshes Siding, Kentucky on September 1, 1943 the daughter of the late Charlie and Myrtle Young Lyons. She was a Cosmetologists, a member of the Marshes Siding Church of God, and a member of Laurel Heights Chapter #288 Order of the Eastern Star. Her parents, brothers James Lyons, Bud Lyons, Cecil Lyons, and Doris Lyons, and sisters Victoria Slaven and Mary Belle Craunin precede her in death. Survivors include her husband Esco Harness, sons Vernon Phillips of Cleveland, Tennessee, Ernie Phillips and wife Melissa of Stearns, Kentucky, Bernie Phillips and wife Candy of Calhoun, Georgia, and Tony Harness and wife Sonia of Dalton, Georgia, daughters Lisa Juntunen and husband Glen of Whitley City, Kentucky and Charlene Phillips of Pine Knot, Kentucky, brothers Ralph Lyons of South Lebanon, Ohio and Larry Slaven of Portland, Tennessee, sister Linda Bountwell of Oneida, Tennessee, and best friend Ella Mae Marler of Whitley City, Kentucky. Eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. Eastern Star service provided by Laurel Heights Chapter #288 Thursday July 15, 2010 at 7pm. McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
