Wilma Jean McHale, age 80 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the Baptist Health of Corbin.
She was born February 12, 1941 in Beulah Heights, Kentucky the daughter of Willie and Nancy (Stephens) Sumler. Wilma was a homemaker, member of the Beulah Heights Church of God, loved quilting, and was an avid St. Jude’s Donor.
Her parents; husband, Thomas McHale; brothers, James Estes Sumler, Morris Sumler, Ray Sumler, Bobby Sumler, and Coy Sumler; sister, Christine Day; and grandchildren, Amanda Wyatt and Michael Paul Wyatt precede her in death.
Survivors include her daughters, Wanda Lay (Clayton) of Whitley City; and Mary McHale of Dalton, Georgia; brothers, Roland Sumler of Pine Knot and Paul Oscar Sumler of Stearns; grandchildren, Barry Staley, Jr., Jason Staley, Kenny Wyatt, Eric Wyatt, and Amanda Staley; great grandchildren, Andru Ridener, Alex Wyatt, Cheyenne Staley, Thomas, Courtney Thomas Graham, Katielynn Stephens, and Shawn Staley; and a great-great grandchild, Braylee Thomas.
Visitation will be held 2-3pm Friday, April 23, 2021 at the McCreary County Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at the Upper Cal Hill Cemetery with Bro. Danny Staley officiating.
