Willie L. Gibson age 75 went home to Heaven on Friday, January 6, 2012 with the care of Hospice and the love and support of his church, Hill Top Baptist Church.
He was born June 1, 1936 at the St. Michiel Mining Camp in Co-Op, Kentucky, being the oldest of 15 children. Willie grew up in the Pee Wee Mining Community of Caryville, Tennessee and he was a 27-year employee at the Marhoeffers plant in Muncie, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife, Thlytha and four children, Chantry Joel (and Sarah Gibson), Essence, Bobby J., and William Steve Gibson. Willie has eleven surviving sisters and brothers: Charlene, Lois, Virgie, Damon, Howard, Hershel, Juanita, Mildred, Nola, Lonnie, and Linda. The family gives recognition to three very special sisters, Evelyn, Clayetta, and Beth for their love.
Willie is preceded in death by his son, David Glenn, parents, Charlie and Clara Gibson, and brothers, Willard, Harold, and Donnie Gibson.
Celebration of life services were held Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the Hill Top Baptist Church with Rev. David Troxell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
