William “Tex” Maurice Ramsey

William “Tex” Ramsey of Union Twp., Ohio passed away on February 2, 2022 at Anderson Mercy Hospital at the age of 78. 

Tex was born to Ernest and Flora (Waters) Ramsey in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 2, 1943. 

He was preceded in death by his beautiful Wife Carolyn Ramsey. His Father Ernest Ramsey, Mother, Flora (Waters) Ramsey King and many sisters and brothers; Jackie Waters, Roy Ramsey, Opal Ramsey, Sandra Roberts, James Ramsey, Ann Ball, Freda Mitchell, Freddie King & Sheila Mae Ramsey. 

Tex is survived by his two sisters; Debra Trabka and Mary Taylor. His children; Sherry (Tom) Emmons, Mark Ramsey, Joshua (Jami) Ramsey & Jennifer Ramsey. Step-children; Scott (Brandy) Foster and Russ Foster. Grandchildren; Christina (Herbert) Taylor, Samantha (Andrew) Wells, Daniel Emmons, Jonathan Ramsey, Paige Ramsey, Bowdy Ramsey, Makayla Christman, Landon Christman, Everley Christman, Hollie Foster and Jordan Foster. Great Grandchildren; LaShawn Crockett, Keara Crockett, Jacob Wells, Hunter Wells, Asher Wells and Nevaeh Ramsey. Also survived by his longtime best friend of 62 years John Volz and countless nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. 

As a young man, Tex stormed the Doo Wop music scene and became a legendary singer in Cincinnati performing for many years and many would agree he had the voice of an angel. His unparallel soprano voice was stark and chilling to anyone who heard it. He is preceded and leaves behind many band mates from over the years. His voice will be missed but his family is consoled by the fact that he is undoubtedly singing in Heaven for Jesus with some of the greatest musicians of all time. 

Per his request, there will be no service. His family and friends will be planning a Celebration of Life at a future date to be determined.
