Wayne Shook

Wayne Shook, age 65 years, of Stearns, Kentucky died January 22, 2022 at the Baptist Health Corbin.

He was born in Muncie, Indiana on April 26, 1956 the son of Sylvester and Goldie (Gregory) Shook. Wayne had worked as a heavy equipment operator in the log woods and was a member of the Mt View Baptist Church. He enjoyed life to the fullest and his last words were, “Tell my family I love them and I want to see them in Heaven.”, but most of all he loved his children, Dallas and Kaylie, and his wife, Roxanne. He had said many times God had blessed him so much. He loved all his family dearly, and if you were a friend you were family to him.

His parents; brother, Edward Shook (Orene); sisters, Shelby Jean King, Iva Sue Jones (Ervin), and Hazel Troxell (Jesse); nephew, Andrew Cooper; brothers in law, Larry Wayne Cooper, Jay VanOver, and C.J. Cline; and sister in law, Katherine Shook precede him in death.

Survivors include his wife Roxanne (Wright) Shook of Stearns; son Dallas Cole Shook of Stearns; daughter, Kaylie Anne Shook of Stearns; brothers, Bill Shook (Jean) of Stearns, Bruce Shook (Joan) of Stearns, Jim Shook (Lois) of Whitley City, and Dale Shook of Stearns; sister, Ellen Coffey (Phillip) of Stearns; brother and sisters in law, Johnnie Wright (Karen) of Stearns, Joyce VanOver of Stearns, Becky Cline of Idaho, and Rhonda Boyatt of Stearns; special friends, Gary Vaughn, Faron Clark, Jerry Shoopman, Robbie Shoopman, and Tony Haider; Travis and JR whom he thought of as sons, that tried their best to keep up with him all things hunting and fishing; and numerous nieces and nephews he loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Friday, January 28, 2022 at the Mt. View Baptist Church with Bro. Bruce Tucker and Bro. Earl Davis, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Shook Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the McCreary County Funeral Home.
