Vonda Marie (Taylor) Kidd age 70 of Pine Knot, Kentucky died Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at her home. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 pm at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin Trammell and Bro. Randall Meadows officiating. Burial followed in the Smith Cemetery.
She was born April 1, 1941 in Round Top, Kentucky to Arnold Taylor and Margie (Coffey) Taylor. She was the oldest of what would grow to be thirteen brothers and sisters. Vonda was known for her independent spirit. She enjoyed spending time with and talking on the phone with her family, especially the large dinners where the extended family would gather, shopping, caring for her home, and listening to the radio.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Margie Taylor, and sons Wendell Lee Garland and Lonnie Wayne Garland.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Lee Kidd, married October 16, 1992; daughter Loretta Burke (& Mike); sons Lionel Wade Garland and Raymond E. Prewitt; stepsons Rick Kidd (& Jewell), Trent Kidd (& Toni), Gary Kidd, Jeff Kidd (& Sharon), stepdaughter Carla Reece; grandchildren Jessica Burke (& Joe Worthington), Jennifer Privett (& Chad), Harley Burke, Cameron Burke, and Davon Burke; great grandchildren Raigan & Taylor Privett; sisters Shirley Bryant (& Lawrence), Katherine Stephens (& Orville), Betty Watson (& Larry), Wilda Douglas (& Howard), Karen Waters (& Larry), and Sharon Taylor; brothers Conley Taylor (& Wanda), Coy Taylor (& Jeanie), Charles Taylor (& Rhonda), Lenville Taylor (& Eva), Kenneth Taylor, and Alonzo Taylor; and numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
