Virginia Tucker age 85 of Whitley City, Kentucky, died December 7, 2011 at her home. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Coffey and Rev. John Duvall, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Strunk Cemetery.
She was born November 5, 1926 in Barren Fork, Kentucky to James H. Gibson and Etta Strunk Gibson. Virginia was of the Baptist Faith and attended the Day Ridge United Baptist Church.
Her mother, father, husband, Louie Tucker, children, Johnny Jones and Barbara Tucker, a grandson, Jared Tucker, and brothers and sisters, Emily Gibson, Dollie Marie Tucker, Homer Howard Gibson, and Franklin Delano Gibson precede her in death.
Survivors include children, Nancy and Danny Phillips, Regina and Johnny Acres, Michael and Mandy Tucker, all of Scott County, Tennessee, Faye and Starlin Keith, Glenna (Suzy) and Rick Watters, Frances and Bobby Freeman, Wendy and Gary Vanover, Lois and Jerry King, Louie Tucker, all of McCreary County, Kentucky, and Don and Kim Tucker of Shelbyville, Indiana; 24 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a very close friend to the family, Patty Sexton.
