Venious Franklin Kidd, Age 89 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died April 21, 2014 in Pine Knot, Kentucky at the McCreary Health and Rehab. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 6pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Dixon officiating.
He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on June 17, 1924 the son of the late Hubert Bethony and Anna Lucille (Stephenson) Kidd. He was an Electrical Engineer for Philadelphia Wireless Institute, a member of the Whitley City Church of God, and American Legion Post #115. He was a highly decorated World War II Veteran, 1st Armored Division.
His parents and brothers, Rufus Kidd and Eunice C. Kidd precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Clark Kidd; sons, Ken Kidd of Pennsylvania, Jerry Kidd of California, Bob Kidd of Rhode Island, and Bill Kidd of California; aunts, Ruth Bobinski of Knoxville, Tennessee and Jean Anderson of Pikeville, Tennessee; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
