Velvie OVelO Joe Davis, age 69 years, of Stearns, Kentucky died April 2, 2010 at her home. Funeral services were held Sunday April 4, 2010 at 2pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Sellers officiating. Burial was in the Nancy Grave Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12:30pm Sunday April 4, 2010 at the funeral home. She was born in Bell Farm, Kentucky on August 14, 1940 the daughter of the late Lincoln and Ruth Douglas Troxell. She was a homemaker and a member of the White Oak Junction Baptist Church. Her parents and 4 infant sons precede her in death. Survivors include her husband Gordon L. Davis, daughter Joyce Pennington of Winfield, Tennessee, brothers Bill Winchester of Winfield, Tennessee and Hubert Winchester of Tennessee, sisters Joyce of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Mary Ann Slavey, Orangie Fay, and Dolly Morris all of Tennessee. Four grandchildren also survive. McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
