Vella Dean Wilson

Vella Dean Wilson, age 75 years, of Stearns, Kentucky died August 15, 2019 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was born in Wilson Ridge, Kentucky on November 4, 1943 the daughter of Ernest and Dellie (Hill) Ross. Vella had worked as a special education teacher’s aide in the McCreary County School System, was a member of the Grace Point Worship Center, and loved Bingo and traveling.

Her parents; husband, Carrol D. Wilson, and sister, Maggie Ross precede her in death.

Survivors include her children, Beverly Duncan (Jim), Julie Ridner (Steve), Sondra Wilson all of Stearns, Kristie Wilson (Rudy) of Whitley City, Richard Wilson, and Michael Wilson both of Stearns; brother Doyle Ross of Stearns; sisters, Norma Hill, Corita Douglas, Corena Gibson (Lenard), and Lydia Wilson (Danny) all of Stearns; and grandchildren, Aaron Wilson, Brian Griffis, Alex Patton, and Abbie Roberts.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 18, 2019 at 4pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Isaiah Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Angel Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 2pm Sunday at the funeral home.
