STEVE C. NEWTON

Steve C. Newton, age 65, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

Steve was born in Hamilton County, Ohio, on June 3, 1951, the son of the late Charles Edward and Margie Lee (Riley) Newton.  He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Mike Newton and two grandchildren: Bradley Dewayne Newton and Austin Edward Rae Newton.

He is survived by his wife, Stella Jean (Tucker) Newton whom he married October 11, 1969.  They had three sons: Len Newton (wife Cindy), Dewayne Newton (wife Kim), and Darrell Newton (wife Shannon) all of Parkers Lake, six grandchildren: Braxton Newton, Bailie Monday, Brayden Newton, Gavin Newton, Drew Newton and Kylen Newton.    He has four surviving brothers: Skip Shroder, Larry Wagner, Mark Newton and Benjamin Newton and three sisters: Carol O’Connor, Donna Mercer and Vicky Hawthorn, as well as a host of friends and other family.

Steve was in the floor covering business for most of his working career.  He enjoyed working in the yard and his flowers.  He loved going to Florida for vacation with his family.  He was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan and he enjoyed music.  He was most passionate about spending time with his family and grandchildren whom he loved dearly.  He will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Allen Coffey officiating.  He will be laid to rest at the Jimmy Tucker Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday after 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
