Sheila Ruth (Tapley) Thompson, age 72, of Harrogate, Tennessee, passed away at home unexpectedly on Thursday, August 27, 2015. Though we mourn the loss of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, we are comforted and secure in the knowledge that as a woman of faith and acceptance, she is now in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
She was born August 29, 1942 at Yamacraw, Kentucky She is preceded in death by her father, Jasper D. Tapley, her mother, Vertie Waters Tapley, her brothers: Dexter and Donald Tapley, her sister, Hazel Slaven, brothers-in-law: Harvey Boyatt and Doyle Winchester, sister-in-law Marilyn Harkey, and nieces: Linda Strunk and Lana Kay Tapley, mother and father-in-law, Verdie and Clarence Nester, brother-in-law Roger Thompson and great nephew Daniel Peters.
She leaves behind many loved ones to cherish our memories of her until we meet again. Loving husband of 51 years, James M. Thompson; son Kyle Dean Thompson, daughter Autumn Nichole Bunch (and husband Bobby Bunch), granddaughter Kayla Hope Bunch (and fiancé Logan Hiefner), step-grandson Alan Bunch; sisters Vella Winchester and Flora Boyatt, brothers: Ronald and James “Jimmy” Tapley, brothers-in-law: Donald Slaven and Ray Thompson along with many special nieces, nephews, friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.
She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the East Appletree United Baptist Church in Revelo, Kentucky.
Funeral services: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015, at McCreary County Funeral Home .
Visitation Saturday from 12:00 noon until time for services
Burial at Angel Cemetery, Stearns, Kentucky.
