Shawn Ray Sumner

Shawn Ray Sumner, age 43 years, of the Sandhill Community, son of Linda (Spradlin) Sumner and the late Donald Ray Sumner, died Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the Baptist Health of Corbin.

He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on March 28, 1978 the son of Donald Ray and Linda (Spradlin) Sumner. He had been a manager at ZZ’s Pizza, and was a member of the Eagle Creek United Baptist Church.  He loved to take care of his chickens and goats.

His father precedes him in death.

Survivors include his mother, Linda Sumner of Whitley City; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the Taylor Ridge United Baptist Church with Bro. Daniel Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylor Ridge Cemetery.  The family will receive friends after 12pm Saturday at the Church.
