Sandra Sue Chitwood, age 67 years, of Strunk, Kentucky died October 20, 2012 in Somerset, Kentucky at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 1pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Coffey officiating. Burial was in the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery.
She was born in Scott County, Tennessee on July 7, 1945 the daughter of the late Chester and Gladys (Davis) King. She was a waitress at Tobe’s Restaurant and a member of the Silerville Baptist Church.
Her parents; companion of 28 years, Clayton Stephens; brothers, Don King and Arnold King; and sister, Patsy Worley precede her in death.
Survivors include her son, Shannon Chitwood of Strunk, Kentucky; daughters, Linda Vickery of Burnside, Kentucky, Rhonda Taylor and husband, Rick of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Teresa Roe and husband, Paul, Pam Shoopman and husband, Jimmy, and Rita Chitwood and Crawford Duncan all of Strunk, Kentucky, Darlene Chitwood and Jackie of Winfield, Tennessee, Sonya Ball and husband, Dee of Stearns, Kentucky, and Stacey Chitwood and Earl Bryant of Pine Knot, Kentucky; brothers, Gene King, Ronnie King, Charles King, Lynn King, and Denvil King all of Strunk, Kentucky; and sisters, Kathy Crabtree and Patricia Heath both of Winfield, Tennessee, Gail King and Shirley Chambers both of Strunk, Kentucky, and Gwenna Byrd of Winfield, Tennessee. 21 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a special friend, Melissa Evans also survive.
