S. T. Keith

S.T. Keith, 95, of Walton, KY, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 29, 2025. The son of the late Roy and Martha Leona {McCullah} Keith, S.T. was born in Yamacraw, KY on December 10, 1929. S.T. was a Machinist for many years and went on to dedicate 20 years of his career to G.E. Aerospace, where his skilled hands and keen mind left a lasting impact.

After his retirement, he continued to pursue his passions with vigor, always finding joy in creating and making. He was an accomplished carpenter and woodworker and would often craft musical instruments by hand, infusing his work with care and attention to detail. S.T. also worked with metal, crafting knives with precision and artistry.

A gifted musician and songwriter, S.T. was proficient in playing all string instruments, and he shared his love of music with anyone who would listen. Over the years, he was a member of several bands, where his musical talents and passion for performance brought joy to many. Aside from his creativity and craftsmanship, in his spare time S.T. found comfort caring for his vegetable garden at home.

He will be deeply missed by his children, Donna (Steve) Smith, Wendell Keith, Steven (Margaret) Keith, and Sheila (Martin) Corey; sister Carol Branscum; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and his best friend April.

In addition to his parents, S.T. was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irene Keith; siblings Shelva Jean Keith Brooks, and Erstle, Hoyt, Ralph, Shirrel, Estiss Lee, and BJ Keith; and grandson Aaron Keith.

A visitation will be held between 11 AM and 1 PM with a funeral service immediately beginning at 1 PM on Thursday, April 3rd at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. S.T. will be laid to rest at Burlington Cemetery following services. Memorial donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America by clicking here.
