Ronald L. Tapley

Ronald L. Tapley, age 83 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was born in Danville, Kentucky on December 28, 1939 the son of Jasper and Vertie (Watters) Tapley. Ronald had worked as a dispatcher for a taxi service and was a member of the East Appletree United Baptist Church. Singing in Church, meeting people and going to Church were his enjoyments in life.

His parents; wife, Retha (Powell) Tapley; brother, Donald Tapley; sisters, Flora Boyatt and husband, Harvey, Hazel Slaven, and husband, Don and Sheila Thompson; and brother-in- law, Doyle Winchester precede him in death.

Survivors include his daughter, Tonya Michelle Dobbs (Bobby Coomer) of Somerset, Kentucky; brother, Jim Tapley and wife, Judy of Stearns, Kentucky; sister, Vella Winchester of Stearns, Kentucky; brother-in-law, James Thompson; grandchildren, Brandon Roy and Hunter Dobbs; great grandchild Joziah Silas Dale Roy; and numerous neices and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Marcum officiating. Burial will follow in the Angel Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Saturday at the Funeral Home.
