Rev. Ronald Wendell âPopsâ Duncan, husband of Temple Anderson Duncan passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011at the Mt. Pleasant United Baptist Church where he was a member. He passed away shortly after giving his testimony.
Ronald was the beloved father of Scott Duncan, Cheri Teresa Mallonee, Juanell Maggiora, Tim Duncan, Lori Chaney, and Kameron Duncan.
Funeral services were held Sunday October 30, 2011 at 3pm at the Mount Pleasant United Baptist Church with Bro. Norman Burke, Bro. Clayton Terry, and Bro. Ronnie Roberts officiating. Music was provided by the Spradlin Family, Floda Neal, Bill and Jill Daugherty, and the Duncan Family. Burial followed in the Rev. Ronald Duncan Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Tim Duncan, Scott Duncan, Ben Duncan, Stephen Duncan, Sam Maggiora, Palace Anderson, Roy Thompson, and Merrill Wilson. Honorary pallbearers include Sam Anderson, Mike Thompson, Kevin Thompson, Timothy Duncan, and Alex Mallonee.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ale and Versie Duncan; 2 brothers, Lenville and Casper Duncan; a sister, Shirley Belle Duncan and his best friend and brother in Christ, Dev. Donald Spradlin as well as his father-in-law, Samuel Anderson.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife Temple Anderson Duncan; children, Scott Duncan, Cheri Teresa Duncan Mallonee, Juanell Maggiora, Tim Duncan, Lori Chaney, and Kameron Duncan; grandchildren, Stephen Duncan, Ben Duncan, Erin Leigh Stephens, Hannah Adkins, Sam Maggiora, Kylie Wright, and Timothy Ronald Wayne Duncan; and great-grandchildren, Alaina Duncan, Oliva Gilreath, and Tanner and Ashlyn West; brothers and sisters, Luther Crawford, A.Y., Opal, Barbara, and Bonnie; his mother-in-law, Mittie Anderson; special cousin, Merrill Denny Wilson; sister-in-law, Shirley Thompson; and brother-in-law, Palace Anderson, as well as many other relatives and friends.
