ROGER VINSON WATERS

Mr. Roger Vinson Waters, age 76, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015, at the Jean Waddle Care Center at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Roger was born November 12, 1938, in McCreary County, Kentucky, to the late Crit Waters and Cordie (Meadows) Smith.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter Kathy Miller and the mother of his children; Melda Chitwood.

Surviving family include two sons Bobby (and Lynn) Waters of Louisville, Kentucky, and Larry Waters of Pine Knot, a brother Clem Swartz, Jr. of Texas and Mildred Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio.  He had seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Roger had worked as a machinist for Ohio Knife Company.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 12, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev William Kilby officiating.  Burial will be at the Sand Hill Cemetery.
