Ricky Roger Taylor

Ricky Roger Taylor, age 68 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at his home.

He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on February 8, 1956 the son of the late Clarence and Gertie (Taylor) Taylor. Rick enjoyed playing and singing music, and in his younger years hunting. He had retired from Kingsford Charcoal as a dock operator and was a member of the Upper Marsh Creek Baptist Church, but had attended the Sandhill United Baptist Church and others in the community.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence Taylor, Jr., Roy Taylor and wife, Martha, and Rondle Taylor; and sister, Lois Ann Taylor.

Survivors include his brothers, William Taylor and wife, Martha of Marshes Siding, Kentucky and Kenneth Taylor and wife, Jewel of Science Hill, Kentucky; sisters, Vertie Taylor of Marshes Siding, Kentucky, Betty Head and husband, Roy of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Donia Dick and husband, Paul of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Donna Vanover and husband, William of Whitley City, Kentucky; special nephews, Lacy Taylor, Chad Taylor, Avery Taylor, and James Taylor and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Friday, January 24, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Melton and Bro. Nate Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Pigeon Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the Funeral Home.
