Richard Longmire

Richard Dawayne Longmire, age 47 years, of Strunk, Kentucky died Wednesday, June 23, 2021 in Marshes Siding, Kentucky. He was born in Sidney, Ohio on October 8, 1973 the son of Gaines W. Longmire and Nadean (Crabtree) Lewis.  Richard had worked for Menzer Hardword on the Paint Line, was a member of the Whitley City Church of God, and enjoyed fishing, camping, cards, but most especially NASCAR Racing. His parents precede him in death. Survivors include his wife, Sunshine (Gosnell) Longmire of Whitley City, Kentucky; sons, Tyler Longmire (Hannah) of Strunk, Kentucky, Arron Longmire (Hannah) of Somerset, Kentucky, Nathanael Longmire of Somerset, Kentucky, Anthony Slavey of Whitley City, Kentucky and Dylan Stephens of Whitley City, Kentucky; daughter, Isabella Longmire of Somerset, Kentucky; brothers, Ricky Longmire of Whitley City, Kentucky, Christopher Longmire (Phoebe) of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Timothy Junior Crabtree (Dominique) of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, Denny Longmire (Terre) of Tampa, Florida, and Ronnie Longmire (Jenny) of Sidney, Ohio; sisters, Lindy Lou Smith of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Tammy Pemberton (Tony) of Robbins, Tennessee, Marti Ann Lewis of Marshes Siding, Kentucky, and Lavon Maynard (Walter) of Edgewater, Florida; grandchildren, Paisleigh, Peyton, and 1 on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 4pm Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Stewart Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 2pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home. McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
