Richard âDickâ Wilson Jr. age 84 years of Strunk, Kentucky, died Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Rollins and Bro. Willis Troxell officiating. Burial followed in the Silerville Cemetery.
He was born August 27, 1927 in Silerville, Kentucky to Richard Wilson and Ardilla Brown Wilson. Dick was a member of the Orie S. Ware Masonic Lodge #874 and well known in the community for Dick Wilsonâs Grocery of Strunk, Kentucky.
His parents, brothers, Harry, Woodrow, Bill, Eddie, Benny and Jimmy Wilson, sister, Rosellan Gilreath, and brother-in-law, Otis Anderson precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Pauline âTootsâ Miller Wilson, whom he married February 24, 1947; sons, Ronnie Wilson and his wife, Linda, and Trennis Wilson, all of Strunk, Kentucky; a daughter, Donna Wilson of Strunk, Kentucky; brothers, Grover Wilson and his wife, Betty, of Strunk, Kentucky, Costello Wilson and his wife, Doris, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, and Bobby Wilson of Strunk, Kentucky; sisters, Betty Lou Anderson of Strunk, Kentucky, Ardilla Fay Baird and her husband, Emery, of Strunk, Kentucky, Pat King and her husband, Ronald, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Goldie Stephens, and her husband, Joe, of London, Kentucky, and Drucilla Voss and husband, Charlie, of Florida; grandchildren, P.J. Bruce, Veronica Kates, Kenny Wilson, Danny Phillips, Carolyn Roach, Richard Weldon Wilson, Zachary Lee Wilson, and Stephanie Norfleet; and great-grandchildren, Marshall Miller Wilson, Tristen Norfleet, Sophie Norfleet, Alyssa Norfleet, Ryan Bruce, Alexa Bruce, Nicholas Kates, Olivia Kates, and a boy on the way. A special friend who was like a brother, Raymond Taylor, and special friends, Roy Trammell, Joe Gregory, Anthony (TT) Trammell, and Willis King also survive.
