Rev. James Donald Waters, age 74 years, of Revelo, Kentucky died August 25, 2012 in Somerset, Kentucky at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 1pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Waters and Pastor Mark Sewell officiating. Burial was in the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery.
He was born in Revelo, Kentucky on August 23, 1938 the son of the late Walter and Stella (Troxell) Waters. He was a Wildland Firefighter for the Pine Knot Job Corps, he had worked for the US Forest Service and Park Service, he had also worked as an agent for Commonwealth and American General Insurance Companies, and he was a member of the Lower Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Scottish Rite, Shriners, and Past Master of Orie S. Ware Masonic Lodge #874.
His parents precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife Cora Ellen (Chinn) Waters; sons, Delynn Waters and wife Donna, and Darrell Waters and wife Rhonda; daughters, Suellen Waters Honeycutt and husband Gary, and Jamie Waters Kirk and husband Brian all of Revelo, Kentucky; and sisters, Joan Waters of Whitley City, Kentucky and Jean Keith of Revelo, Kentucky. 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren also survive.
McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
