Reba Dean McCoy

Reba Dean McCoy, age 81 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was born in White Oak Junction, Kentucky on August 24, 1943 the daughter of the late Kelly and Dinah (Frady) Watson. Reba had been a homemaker and member of the Oak Grove United Baptist Church. Playing bingo and being with her kids were her favorite past times.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Verlin H. McCoy; daughter, Patricia McCoy; brothers, Jimmy R. Watson, Lee Watson, Kelly Watson, Andy Watson, Junior Watson, Edison Watson, and Bill Watson; sisters, Edith Pennington, Jean Watson, Opal Watson, June Kay Watson, and Katherine Watson; and grandchildren, Christina Watson, Deanna McCoy, Veronica McCoy, and Veronica Simpson.

Survivors include her companion, Junior Keith of Whitley City, Kentucky; sons, Jerry McCoy (Virginia) of Whitley City, Kentucky and Jim McCoy (Melinda) of Monticello, Kentucky; daughters, Rita McCoy, Carol Sue McCoy, and Misty McCoy all of Whitley City, Kentucky; sister, Goldie Massengale of Indiana; 16 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren; special great-great grandchild, Presley Jane Hurd; and special friend, Alvin Jones.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Tapley and Bro Jason Shook officiating. Burial to follow in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
