Ralph Gerald New

Ralph Gerald New, age 78 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in Middlesboro, Kentucky.

He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on March 19, 1945 the son of the late Henry and Louisa (Tucker) New.  Ralph had worked in construction doing asphalt and was a member of the Day Ridge United Baptist Church.  Fishing, riding side by side, dancing, listen to music, and playing and coaching sports were his favorite past times.

His parents; brothers, Coy New, Logan New, Jim New, Luster Sherman New, and Roy New; sisters, Dorothy Tucker, Bethena Keith, Flona Sexton, Ella Mae Kennedy, Anna Faye Taylor, Goldie Hughes, Angie Phillips, Pearlie Clark, and Hester Davis; and a grandson, Jordan Gerald New precede him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley (Miniard) New of Whitley City, Kentucky; sons, Jeffery Gerald New and wife, Diane of Stearns, Kentucky and Craig Waco New and wife, Naomi of Berea, Kentucky; granddaughter, Jessica Shoopman and husband, Jeff; and great grandchildren, Jordan Emmy Sue Shoopman and Easton Blaze Shoopman.

Graveside services will be held 10am Thursday, March 14, 2024 at the Strunk-Yancey Cemetery
