Ova Powell, age 89 years, of Stearns, Kentucky died August 16, 2013 in Somerset, Kentucky at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday, August 18, 2013 at 3pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Walker officiating. Burial was in the Flat Rock Cemetery.
She was born in Flat Rock, Kentucky on September 17, 1923 the daughter of the late Starling and Eva (McCart) Bryant. She was a homemaker and a member of the Monticello Church of Christ.
Her parents; husband, Willard Powell; brother, Kenneth Bryant; and sister, Gracie Swain precede her in death.
Her sons, Willard C. Powell of Stearns, Kentucky and Frank Powell of Somerset, Kentucky; daughters, Jane West husband, Kenneth of Stearns, Kentucky and Nancy Stringer and husband, Paul of Pine Knot, Kentucky; and sister, Ella Mae Whitehead of Louisville, Kentucky. Grandchildren, Darian West, Daniel West, Dustin West, Miranda Stringer, David Stringer, and Ryan Powell; and great grandchildren, Benjamin West and Isabela West also survive.
McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
