Opal Marie Patrick

Opal Marie Patrick, age 71 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died July 22, 2017 at her home.

She was born in Scuddy, Kentucky on March 28, 1946 the daughter of Jacob and Cora Myrtle “Sego” Thomas. She had worked for the McCreary County School System as an office clerk.  Opal was a member of the Whitley City Church of God. She enjoyed being a home body, spending time with children and grandchildren, reading, Facebook, NCIS, and computer games.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William Jake Thomas, Boyd Allen Thomas, Forest E. Thomas, and Jessie Aaron Thomas; and sister, Clara Mabel Elam.

Survivors include her husband, Carl David Patrick; children, David Patrick and wife, Tammi and Krystal Patrick and companion, Greg Owens; grandchildren, Corey Patrick, Lucas Waters, Kaitlin Waters, Shawna Wiggins, Becci Hinson, Brandi Higenbottom, and Michael Watkins; great grandchildren, Reily Patrick, Abel Tarter, Kayla Cobbler, Raeleigh Thompson, Jacob Higenbottom, Bryanna Tidwell, Braden Watkins, and Analeigh Watkins; sister in law, Dorothy Thomas; and a special sister, Brenda Payne.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 24, 2017 at 10am in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Harry Watters officiating.  Burial to follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the Funeral Home.
