Opal McHone passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Nathan Adelson Hospice Care Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, being 80 years, 4 months and 14 days old. She was born in Whitley City, Kentucky, on August 13, 1937 to the late Leslie and China (Perry) Bryant.
Opal retired after working 18 years as a Supervisor of Subrogation for Blue Cross Blue Shield. She treasured spending time with her family and friends. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, crafts, and puzzles.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years Dean McHone; brothers, Harold Bryant, Arless Bryant, and Randy Bryant; and sister, Penny Lake.
Surviving family includes her son, Kevin and wife Amanda of Ohio; daughters, Melody and husband Bobby Garland of Las Vegas, Nevada, Lynn Bleha and husband Jay of Indiana; sisters, Elva Perkins of Stearns, Kentucky and Mae Bryant of Marshes Siding, Kentucky; grandchildren, Michelle Fraley (Shawn), Dean McHone, Nick Bleha (Tammy), Erin Stutler (Jeffrey), Kevin Bleha; great grandchildren, Ricky Collins, Gunner Bleha, Carson Bleha, Ellie Fraley, Blake Fraley, Garrett Fraley, and Eleanor Stutler.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home.
Visitation: Sunday, December 31, 2017 from 12:00-2:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
Burial: McCreary Memorial Gardens.
Donations can be made to the Nathan Adelson Hospice.
