Oliver Coffey

Oliver Coffey, age 81 years, of the Clark Hollow Community, died Thursday February 20, 2025 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was born in Wayne County, Kentucky on February 15, 1944 the son of the late Frank Oliver and Sarah Jane (Gregory) Coffey. Oliver had worked in the sawmill and was a member of the Concord Baptist Church. His favorite past times were coloring on his tablet, fishing, ginseng hunting, spending time with family sitting on the porch, and loved to visit.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Henderson F. Coffey, Othal Earnie Coffey, and Stanley Estile Coffey; Jacky Daniel Coffey and Cordell Coffey, and sister, Audrey Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Mary S. (Vaughn) Coffey of Stearns, Kentucky, whom he married August 11, 1971; sons, Wendell Oliver Coffey of Stearns, Kentucky and Randall Tony Coffey of Monticello, Kentucky; daughter, Elvenia Sue West (David) of Stearns, Kentucky; sisters, Clora Coffey Gregory and Lora Coffey Vaughn both of Monticello, Kentucky; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Nate Howard officiating. Burial to follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
