Myrtle Francis Watters, age 82 years, of Stearns, Kentucky died May 11, 2012 in Somerset, Kentucky at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday May 14, 2012 at 4pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Perry and Rev. Wayne Stancefield officiating. Burial was in the Angel Cemetery.
She was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on January 29, 1930 the daughter of the late Calvin and Temple (Watters) West. She was a homemaker, a member of the Silerville United Baptist Church, Murphy Ridge Community Action, Murphy Ridge Quilting Club, and Christian Appalachian Care Momâs Group.
Her parents and brother, Clyde West precede her in death.
Survivors include her children, Donia Sharon Brown and husband Tommy; Cynthia T. Duncan and husband Jim both of Stearns, Kentucky, Gwendolyn Brynat of Marshes Siding, Kentucky, Edwinia Watters and Bill Hoskins, son of her heart both of Stearns, Kentucky; heart sister, Ruby Sanders of Muncie, Indiana; brothers and sisters, Earl West, Clinton West and wife Bonnie, Clifford West and wife Joy, Denny Ray West and wife Mary Roy West and wife Linda, Hattie Siler and husband Grant, and Thelma McWilliams and husband Bob all of Williamsburg, Kentucky and Louella Shelley and husband Chester of Hazel Park, Michigan, and sister in law Sue West of Muncie, Indiana. Grandchildren, Tim Brown, Jamie White, and Brandon Bryant; and great grandchildren, Dustin Roberts Brown, Dalton Cassady, Devon Cassady, Patience Brown, and Hayden Bryant also survive.
