Michael E. Stephens age 70 of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the McCreary County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pine Knot, Kentucky. Funeral services were held Friday, September 16, 2011 at 12:00 noon at the McCreary County Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Pine Knot Cemetery.
He was born April 8, 1941 in Lexington, Kentucky to Lawrence A. Stephens and Vannah (Taylor) Stephens. Michael was of the Baptist Faith and attended the East Appletree Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Bridgeport, Indiana.
His father, brother, Eugene Stephens, and a grandson precede him in death.
Survivors include his sons, Richard E. Stephens and wife, Ginger, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Kenneth M. Stephens of Mooresville, Indiana; a daughter, Michelle Dodds of Crawfordsville, Indiana; a sister, Barbara Gilreath of Stearns, Kentucky; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
