Melvia (Godsey) Ross, age 67 years, of Stearns, Kentucky passed away August 8, 2012 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 2pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Coffey officiating. Burial was in the Angel Cemetery.
She was born in Yamacraw, Kentucky on May 30, 1945 the daughter of the late Rev. Goldman and Lillie (Coffey) Godsey. She was a homemaker, member of the Mt. View United Baptist Church, and her hobbies were quilting, gardening, and games.
Her parents; and brothers, Melvin Godsey and Edward Godsey precede her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Ross of Stearns, Kentucky; sons, Kenneth R. Ross and wife Beatrice of Schiller Park, Illinois; and Gene E. Ross and wife Veronica of Richmond, Kentucky; daughters, Kathy Sparks of Stearns, Kentucky and Sheila Terry and husband James of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; brothers, Ronald Godsey of Knoxville, Tennessee and Arnold Godsey of Whitley City, Kentucky; and sisters, Velvadean "Dean" Clark of Muncie, Indiana, Leona Dixon of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Linda Stephens of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Della West of Helenwood, Tennessee. 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren also survive.
