LURA NORRIS

Lura Norris, age 73 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died June 6, 2011 in Oneida, Tennessee at the St. MaryOs of Scott County Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday June 9, 2011 at 1pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Moore officiating. Burial was in the Angel Cemetery. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AFTER 11AM THURSDAY JUNE 9, 2011 AT THE FUNERAL HOME. She was born in Yamacraw, Kentucky on August 15, 1937 the daughter of the late Nicholas and Frona (Slaven) Barnett. She was a retired CNA and machine operator at LeSportSac and a member of the Second Baptist Church in Muncie, Indiana. Her parents and sister Elva Ross precede her in death. Survivors include her sons Larry Norris of Pine Knot, Kentucky and Davey Norris of Whitley City, Kentucky and sisters Ella Mae Hammond and Shirley Powell both of Whitley City, Kentucky. Grandchildren Brandy Gilreath, Nickolas Norris, Rexanna Norris, Shannon Norris, and Davin Norris and great grandchildren Madison Gilreath and Kylee Norris also survive. McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
