LUCY ALICE DORITY

Lucy Alice Dority, age 78 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died September 20, 2013 in Pine Knot, Kentucky at the McCreary Health & Rehab Center.  Funeral services were held Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 2pm at the McCreary County Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jimmy Waters and Brother Pat Coffey officiating.  Burial  was in the Angel Cemetery.

She was born in Flat Rock, Kentucky on December 30, 1934 the daughter of the late Joel and Bertha (Coffey) Strunk.  She was a homemaker, a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, and she loved her family.

Her parents; husband, Arthur Dority; sons, Christopher Dority, Leonard Sammons, step-son Harold Daugherty; daughters; Mary Alice Sammons, step-daughter, Truie Daugherty, Brothers: Orne Strunk, Carl Strunk, Robert Strunk, Melvin Strunk, Seal Strunk, Willard Strunk; sisters, Nannie Strunk and Mamie Loudermilk; and 1 grandchild, precede her in death.

Survivors include her sons,  Freddie Dority of Harrogate, Tennessee; Burl Dority, Whitley City, Kentucky, and Joe Daugherty and wife Renee of Whitley City, Kentucky; step-son Estle Daughtery Stearns, Kentucky; daughter Madie and husband Tim Parriman of Pine Knot, Kentucky; 5 grand children, 17 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
