Lorene Stephens, age 71 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died January 18, 2018 in Somerset, Kentucky at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born August 5, 1946 the daughter of Delmus and Laura Belle (Moore) Creekmore. Lorene had worked as a Teacher’s Aide at the Whitley City Elementary, was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She loved sewing, quilting, Goodwill, yard sales, and being with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Donald Estil Cox and Clyde “Abe” Stephens; son, Gary Don Cox; brother, Arnold “Ponnie” Creekmore; and sisters, Margaret Marion and Carolyn Belle Creekmore.
Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Patrick and husband, Freddie of Marshes Siding, Kentucky; step chidren, Doug Stephens and wife, Debbie and Cheryl Taylor and husband, Larry; brothers, Randall Creekmore and Ricky Creekmore and wife, Pam both of Pine Knot, Kentucky; sisters, Lula Bryant and husband, Onel Dean, Shirley Cooper and husband, Michael both of Pine Knot, Kentucky and Barbara Lovett and husband, Steve of Strunk, Kentucky; grandchildren, Ryan Patrick, Kevin Patrick and wife, Chelsea, Rodney Cox and wife, Iris, and Don Cox and wife, Tab; step grandchidlren, Adam and Rachel; great grandchildren, Blakelee Patrick, Sadie Cox, Desa Cox, Lindy Cox, Weston Cox, and Paxton Cox. Special friends, Barb Wright and Carol Hayes also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 2pm at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Timothy Corder officiating. Burial to follow in the New Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Sunday at the funeral home.
