Lonzo "Lonnie" Ross, Jr.

Lonzo “Lonnie” Ross, Jr., age 66 years, of Strunk, Kentucky died Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the UK Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Lonnie was born in Jellico, Tennessee on July 7, 1958 the son of Lonzo and Louise (King) Ross. He was a retired coal miner and owned a construction company along with his two sons. Lonnie loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, and was a member of the Cherokee United Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death was his mother, Louise Ross, grandmother, Pinkie (Hill) Ross; father and mother-in-law, Dan and Wanda Coffey; and two brothers-in-law, Nelson Coffey and Rick Coffey.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie (Coffey) Ross of Strunk, Kentucky; sons, Brian Ross and Brad Ross and wife, Emily all of Strunk, Kentucky; three grandsons, Vincent, Mason, and Colton; his father, Lonzo Ross and wife, Linda; brother, Ronnie Ross; brothers-in-law, Danny Coffey, Steve Coffey and wife, Rose Mary; and Kevin Coffey all of Strunk, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Monday, January 6, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Stewart Jones and Bro. George Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in the Angel Cemetery.
