Lindell L. Wilson, age 70 of Pine Knot, Kentucky, former Sheriff of McCreary County, died Monday, November 28, 2011 at St. Maryâs of Scott County, Tennessee. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the McCreary County Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Chitwood Cemetery in Winfield, Tennessee.
He was born December 1, 1940 in Pine Knot, Kentucky to Emby N. Wilson and Rosetta Wright Wilson. Lindell was of the Baptist faith, having attended Meadows Grove Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country from 1957 until 1960 and was a Sargent of the Presidential Honor Guard at the White House at the age of 18. Lindell was later elected Sheriff of McCreary County in 1982 until 1986 and was also a member of the Masonic lodge since the 1960âs.
His mother and father precede him in death.
Survivors include his son, Jeffery Lee Wilson, of Winfield, Tennessee; daughters, Kathy Lynn Duvall of Corbin, Kentucky and Brenda Lee Clark of Pine Knot, Kentucky; 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
