LAURA MANDAY VAUGHN

Laura Manday Vaughn, age 96 years, of the Clark Hollow Community died Sunday September 12, 2010 at her home. Funeral services were held Wednesday September 15, 2010 in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Estel Jones officiating. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AFTER 6PM TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 14, 2010 AT THE FUNERAL HOME. She was born March 2, 1914 in Slavens, Kentucky the daughter of the late Marion and Susie Ellen (Clark) Roberts. She was a homemaker and a member of the Rock Springs United Baptist Church. Her parents, husband Steve Vaughn, sons Stanley Vaughn and Edgar Vaughn, daughters Christine Jones and Jeweline Vaughn, brothers Noble Jones and Fordie Jones, and sisters Gracie Foster, Nina Ross, Clara Burke, Martha Phillips, Nannie Vaughn, Roxie Coffey, and Mary Abbott precede her in death. Survivors include sons Boyce Vaughn, Finley Vaughn, Lester Vaughn, Lynn Vaughn all of Monticello, Kentucky, and Bobby Vaughn of Stearns, Kentucky, daughters Imogene Daugherty of Fresno, California, and Mary Coffey and Myrtle Vaughn both of Stearns, Kentucky, brother George Jones of Monticello, Kentucky and sister Elsie Worley of Whitley City, Kentucky. Thirty seven grandchildren, forty nine great grandchildren, and a few great great grandchildren also survive. McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
