LARRY GLEN SAMMONS

Larry Glen Sammons, Sr., age 61 years, died March 19, 2011 in Lexington, Kentucky at the UK Medical Center. Funeral services were held Wednesday March 23, 2011 at 3pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Gregory officiating. Burial was in the Hatfield Cemetery. THE FAMILY WILL RECIEVE FRIENDS AFTER 6PM TUESDAY MARCH 22, 2011 AT THE FUNERAL HOME. He was born in Woodbin, Kentucky on March 21, 1949 the son of the late Jewl Sammons and Mildred (Hamby) Snell. He was a mechanic and a member of the South Fork Classic Car Association. His parents, step father Bill Strange, and brother Alan Sammons precede him in death. Survivors include his wife Francis (Hatfield) Sammons, sons Larry Glen Sammons, Jr. of Whitley City, Kentucky and Anthony Rosenberger of Ohio, daughters Laura Sammons of Monticello, Kentucky, Melanie Sammons Shelton, Rebecca Anderson, and April Sammons all of Ohio, brothers Scott Sammons, Chris Sammons, and Gary Sammons all of Tucson, Arizona, and Roger Strange of Ohio, sisters Linda (Sissy) Stewart of Kentucky, Dorothy (Pumpkin) Chillings of Ohio, and Joyce Hayes of Tucson, Arizona. 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren also survive. McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
