KAREN GRINNELL

Karen Grinnell, age 60, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed from this life on Monday, June 22, 2015, at the Pioneer Community Hospital in Oneida, Tennessee.

Karen was a math and English teacher at the Wayne County Middle School and was very involved with school activities.  She enjoyed motorcycling, hiking, kayaking, riding the ATV and all outdoor activities.  She also enjoyed her puppies.

She was born in Muncie, Indiana on June 8, 1955, to Robert Moore and Nancy (Cox) Schauer.  She is preceded in death by her mother.  Surviving family include her father Robert Moore of Anderson, Indiana, her husband Brad Grinnell whom she married June 22, 2006, of Whitley City, Kentucky, a son Patrick Lykens of Whitley City, a daughter Jillian Lykens of Lexington, Kentucky and step-daughter Priscilla Grinnell of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a brother, Mark Moore (and wife Karyn) of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and a nephew Ian Moore also of Jeffersonville.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
