Joyce Ruth Jones

Joyce Ruth Jones, age 89 years, of Stearns, Kentucky died Sunday, January 26, 2020 at the Veranda Gardens Nursing Facility in Cincinnati, Ohio.

She was born in Stearns, Kentucky on September 12, 1930 the daughter of Charles Everett and Bertha (Smith) Mays. Joyce was a homemaker, member of the Lower Hickory Grove United Baptist Church, had attended the Healing Room and Harvest Time Church of God. She enjoyed working at the Love Divine Baptist Daycare working with the children, singing, outdoors, walking, and attending church.

Her parents; husband, Alfred Jones; daughter, Darlene Jones; brothers, Doyle Mays and Ronald Mays; and sisters, Deloris Mays and Lorros Duncan precede her in death.

Survivors include her daughters, Anna Cordell of Somerset and Judy Carlton of St. Bernard, Ohio; brother, Roger Mays of Indiana; grandchildren, Lori Ann Wright, Kristen Carlton, and Kyle Carlton; great grandchildren, Matthew and Cody Wright; and great-great grandchildren, Jayden, Zack, Jamie, Julian, and Alex Wright.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 31, 2020 at 2pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Pastor Clifford Mize officiating. Burial will be in the Angel Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Friday at the Funeral Home.
