JOHN STRUNK, JR.

John Strunk, Jr., age 78 years, Whitley City, Kentucky died November 3, 2010 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Somerset, Kentucky. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 7, 2010 at McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Sumner and Bro. Dillard Bryant officiating. Burial was in New Liberty Cemetery. He was born at Barren Fork, Kentucky on January 1, 1932 the son of the late John and Ethel Brooks Strunk. He was a retired logger and member of New Liberty Baptist Church. His parents and his daughter, Pat Lawson preceded him in death. Don Strunk is the deceased brother. One grandchild is deceased. Survivors include his wife, Mossie Bryant Strunk and his children, Mike (Mary) Strunk, Cincinnati, Ohio; David (Robin) Bryant, Dalton, Georgia; Roger Bryant, Glen (Amy) Bryant, Whitley City, Kentucky; Betty Ruth (Bill) Miller, Indiana; Norma Jean (Dale) Boggs, Virginia and Joyce Ann (Tommy) Ferris, Cincinnati, Ohio. The surviving brothers and sisters are, Kenneth (Peggy) Strunk; Jay (Freida) Strunk; Lowell (Judy) Strunk; Gerald Strunk; Doyle Strunk, all of Whitley City, Kentucky; Faye Payne, Cincinnati, Ohio; Susan (Howard) Achley, Shepherdville, Kentucky; Nancy Neal and Darrel (Donna) Strunk, Pine Knot, Kentucky. Eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren survive. McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements. VISITATION AFTER 6:00PM SATURDAY.
