Jewell Mossie Brooks

Jewell Mossie Brooks, age 84 years, of Elsmere, Kentucky died Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Kentucky.

She was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on January 22, 1939 the daughter of Walter and Nora (Perry) Catron. Jewell was a homemaker and enjoyed coloring, TV, crossword puzzles, and shopping.

Her parents; husband, John Brooks; and brothers, Oscar Catron, Cecil Perry, Lawrence Vanover, Calvin Catron, and Junior Catron.

Survivors include her sons, Delbert Brooks of Crittenden, Kentucky, Willard Brooks of Crittenden, Kentucky, and Johnny Brooks of Whitley City, Kentucky; daughters, Mary Justice of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, Rita Perry of McCreary County, Kentucky, Sheila Bryant of McCreary County, Kentucky, Darlene Rombold of Florence, Kentucky, Flora Courtney of Crittenden, Kentucky, and Nora Snodgrass of Crittenden, Kentucky; sister, Julie Blankenship of Wayne, Michigan; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Friday, September 22, 2023 at the McCreary County Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Indian Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Friday at the Funeral Home.
