James W. Tucker age 87 of Stearns, Kentucky died Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Dwight Davis and Br. Carley Tucker officiating. Burial followed in the Davis Cemetery.
He was born August 13, 1924 in Denney, Kentucky to Henry William Tucker and Tilda Morrow Tucker. James was of the Baptist faith and was a Deacon of the Lick Creek Baptist Church. He had worked as a farmer and a logger.
His mother, father, son, James Howard Tucker, brothers, Noel, Bonnie, Schylor, and Windell Tucker, sisters, Ollie Maxwell and Tammy Tucker, and one great-grandchild precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Dovie Jane Tucker; sons, Clarence W. Tucker and wife, Mary, Rev. Kelly Tucker and wife, Lois, and Harold Lee Tucker and wife, Brenda, all of Stearns, Kentucky; brothers, Junior Tucker and Carley Tucker, both of Monticello, Kentucky, and Clyde Tucker of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters, Chloe Roberts and Artie Watson, both also of Monticello, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
