JAMES T. TAYLOR

James T. Taylor, age 67, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

Born in Whitley City, Kentucky, on April 1, 1948, he was the son of the late Herbert and Frona (King) Taylor.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Larry David Taylor, two sisters: Sue Haygood, Maxine Stephenss, brothers-in-law Bill Stephens, Larry Vanover and J.T. Weaver.

Surviving family include his wife of 33 years, Brenda (Day) Taylor of Pine Knot, a son, Michael (and Crystal) Taylor of Pine Knot, two daughters: Tonya (and Greg) Neal of Pine Knot and Rachel (and Dwight) Anderson of Stearns, three sisters: Rachel “Kitty” Vanover of Whitley City, Billie Weaver of Somerset and Betty Lou Grim of Ohio, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

James was a retired coal miner having worked at Shamrock Coal Company for many years.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and jeep riding.

Funeral services: Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with William Kilby officiating

Visitation Saturday from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Interment:  Taylor Ridge Cemetery
