James Leonard “Tank” Perry, age 65 years, was born on February 25, 1959 to Willis H, and Alene (Ridner) Perry, left this world on March 14, 2024 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
Tank’s mother and father precede him in death. Two sisters, Dora Strait (Orville) and Wanda Davis (Russ); and two brothers, William Perry and Ruben Cleo “Short” Perry await him in heaven.
Tank leaves behind 4 children to mourn his loss, James (Jr.), Matthew and Allsion born to his first wife and love Sheila; and Cody born to the 2nd love of his life and who remained his partner for 35 years, Christina “Poppy Jo”.
Tank also leaves behind, 7 beloved grandchildren whom he adored; 5 sisters, Zada Perry (Tom), Rosa Stephens (Jerry), Amy Roth (Steve), Mary Ann Tucker (Rodney), and Nenia Tucker (Terry); 7 brothers, Doyle Boone Perry (Patricia), Lonzo “Didi” Perry (Pauline, Finley Perry (Becky, dec.), Lester “Check” Perry, Vernon “Rossie” Perry (Carolyn), and Harold Jones (Judy), and a multitude of nieces and nephews who will all miss him dearly.
Tank loved his large family and spending time with them. He loved to fish and was always thinking of catching that next “BIG ONE” and trying to talk a brother-in-law into going.
Funeral services will be held 12:30pm Saturday, March 16, 2023 at the Eagle Creek United Baptist Church with visitation to start at 11am at the Church. The obituary will be read by Bro. Lonzo “Didi” Perry and the message will be brought by Bro. Boone Perry. He will be buried next to his parents at the Eagle Creek Cemetery.
