James Henry Head, age 83 years, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky died Monday April 10, 2017 at his home.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11:00am at the Sawyer Baptist Church with Bro. Wade Heath and Bro. Jeffrey Brown officiating. Burial to follow in the Sawyer Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Church.
He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on January 7, 1934 the son of the late James William and Ida (Vanover) Head. James was a member of the Sawyer Baptist Church. He enjoyed, fishing, singing gospel music and ginseng digging.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Clara Faye (Hicks) Head; daughter, Charlene Head; brothers, Wesley Head, Luther Head, and Oscar Head; and sisters, Bessie Head, Carrie Wilson, Gertie Walters, Ella Head, Amanda Spradlin, and Dora Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Linda (Owens) Head of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; son, Jimmy Head of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; daughters, Reida Taylor and husband, Gary of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Freida Gilreath and husband, Tim of Pine Knot, Kentucky, and Kathalene Privett and husband, Wade of Strunk, Kentucky; step-children, William Vanover and wife, Donna of Whitley City, Kentucky, Norman Vanover and wife, Rebecca of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Kenneth Vanover and wife, Kate of Whitley City, Kentucky, Ralph Vanover and wife, Fonda of Parkers Lake, John Vanover and wife, Mary of Parkers Lake, and Andrea Roysdon and husband, Eric of Winfield, Tennessee; sister, Elizabeth Jackson of Michigan; 7 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 4 step-great grandchildren; and special friends, James and Barbara Warman.
