James Dwight Cox

James Dwight Cox, age 75 years, of Williamsburg, Kentucky died Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on April 30, 1948 the son of Charlie and Sylvia (Smith) Cox.  Dwight was owner of TTT Trucking and a certified butcher.  Trucking, hunting, fishing, hiking, sightseeing, nature, and gardening were his enjoyments in life.

His parents precede him in death.

Survivors include his wife of almost 58 years, Katherine G. (Brown) Cox of Williamsburg, Kentucky; children, Dawn Marie Cox of Homestead, Florida, Susie May Bass (Michael) of Penhook, Virginia, and Charlie Ivan Dwight Cox (Joanna) of Ft. Haines, Georgia; brother, Thomas Dilman Cox (Sherry) of Homestead, Florida; grandchildren, Ashlie Johnson (Geoff), Christopher Woodard, Ashlynn Goelinitz (Brice), Victoria Parcell, William Parcell, and Christina Davis; great grandchildren, Jayden Parcell, Connor Johnson, Navy Parcell, and Nolen Parcell; nieces, Andrea and Robby Martens and their child, Candence and Holly and Brenton Berry, and their children, Heath and Harper Berry.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1pm Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Ogle officiating. The family will receive friends after 11am Saturday at the Funeral Home.
