Olivia Jacqueline Waters, age 76 years, of the Worley Hilltop Community died June 9, 2012 in Lexington, Kentucky at the UK Medical Center. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 11am in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Waters and Rev. Eddie King officiating. Burial was in the Waters Family Cemetery.
She was born May 9, 1936 the daughter of the late Ottis Cline and Flora (Waters) Ramsey King. She was a former supervisor for Camel Manufacturing, a member of the First Hickory Grove United Baptist Church, and Laurel Heights Order of The Eastern Star Chapter #288, and when she received her GED she was the oldest person to ever graduate.
Her parents, husband, Buddy Walter Waters; son, Wade Waters; brothers, Roy Ramsey and Fred King III; and sisters, Anna Ball, Opal Ramsey, Shelia Mae Ramsey, Sandra Roberts, and Freida Mitchell precede her in death.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry Randall (Randy) Waters and wife Colette of Stearns, Kentucky, and Ernest Clayton Waters of Sevierville, Tennessee; daughter, Joan Elisa Branscum and husband Herbert of Cumming, Georgia; brothers, William Maurice Ramsey and James David Ramsey both of Cincinnati, Ohio; and sisters, Mary Helen Taylor of Murphy, North Carolina and Deborah Trabka of Cincinnati, Ohio. Grandchildren, Timothy L. Corder and wife Amy, Adam Clayton Corder, Kevin Waters and wife Holly, and Stacy Sherain Waters; great grandchildren Isaac Zain Corder and Sarah Elizabeth Corder; step grandchildren Abigail Merlo, Amy Oaks, Laynie Branscum, Bonnie Patterson, Heather Bradley, Cierra Hale, and Noah Chapman; and step great grandchildren, Jonathan Foster, Benjamin Hall, Madison Merlo, Correy Patterson, and Baylor Bradley also survive.
Eastern Star service was held Monday, June 11, 2012 at 7:30pm by Laurel Heights Chapter #288.
