Herbert Gene Ross, age 72 years, of Stearns, Kentucky died September 20, 2012 in Pine Knot, Kentucky at the McCreary Health and Rehab. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 12pm. Burial was in the Angel Cemetery.
He was born in Worley, Kentucky on November 24, 1939 the son of the late Charlie Hannibal and Clara Alice (King) Ross. He was a heavy equipment operator and of the Baptist Faith.
His parents; wives, Kay (Seward) Ross and Carolyn Sue (Penick) Ross; sons, Gene Dewayne Ross and Wesley Tapley; sister, Charlene Vanover; 3 infant brothers; 2 infant sisters; and 1 grandchild precede him in death.
Survivors include his sons, David Alan Ross of Cartersville, Georgia, Danny Ray Ross of Jasper, Georgia, and Larry Gene Ross of Rome, Georgia; daughter, SeLena Ridener of Whitley City, Kentucky; brother, Jerry Lee Ross of Whitley City, Kentucky; and sisters, Joyce Phipps of Muncie, Indiana, Novella Woods of Daleville, Indiana, and Betsy Phillips of Stearns, Kentucky. 20 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and friend, Stella Tapley also survive.
McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
