Gwin Austin Chapman, age 70 years, passed away October 28, 2014, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was born November 12, 1943, in Greenwood, Kentucky, the son of the late Edgar Austin and Marie (Branscum) Chapman.
He retired from General Motors Corp. in Sharonville, Ohio with 42 years of service. He was a member of the Fairfield West Baptist Church in Fairfield, Ohio. He served his country in the U.S. Navy.
Preceding him in death were his parents and siblings; Lee Roy Chapman (and wife Wanda), Naomi Fay Fights (and husband Bill), James Gearl Chapman (and wife Maria) and Jimâs twin sister Janice M. Chapman.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Benita (Pellillo) Chapman, son Chad Austin (and wife Tisha) Chapman, grandson Nicholas Austin Chapman, brothers; Norman L. Chapman (and wife Gearldine), Allan R. Chapman (and wife Beverly), and sister; Pamela G. Howard (and husband Lee). He had numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Paul Young Funeral Home in Mt. Healthy, Ohio and the McCreary County Funeral Home. Grave side services were held on November 1, 2014, in Greenwood, Kentucky. A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at the Living Water Baptist Church in West Chester, Ohio, officiated by the Pastor Gary Marshall and the music and songs was by David Polley and Julie Butler.
The family would like to express their appreciation to all who traveled so far for the services, said a prayer, sent a card, food or flowers or any act of kindness shown to the family during Gwinâs sickness and passing. Special thanks goes out to Pastors Gary Marshall and Norman Patterson, the Second Baptist Church of Whitley City for use of their facility and to those who prepared the final resting place for Gwin. It was his last request to be laid to rest in his beloved home town of Greenwood, Kentucky. To all of the many family members and friends, the family truly appreciates your love and kindness; it will be forever remembered.
